About Internet Extinguishers

Our technicians deliver to your site, in our vans, and then commission your extinguishers on site in accordance with BS 5306-3 & 8. This cannot be done by ANY internet firm. Our prices always include delivery and ‘on site’ commissioning, wall mounting using the correct brackets and fitting a photoluminescent ID sign.

As an established Fire Safety Company we have seen the good and bad side of firefighting equipment and the devastation fire can cause. In the event of fire, which would you choose - the cheap extinguisher you bought from a stranger (possibly not assembled or commissioned), or the quality fire extinguisher bought from a time served accredited fire engineer whose job relies on installing and maintaining top quality equipment?

Just about anything can be bought and sold on the Internet, and fire equipment is no different. Except that we have identified (as have others) a worrying trend towards the unacceptably ‘cheap and nasty’ end of the market. You will not find expensive equipment for sale in the internet because buyers are looking for cheap prices. What you will find is cheap extinguishers at cheap prices. Even if sold as ‘Kitemarked’ or ‘Made in England’ etc, we find that many are neither. It really is a case of ‘buyer beware!

’We have seen examples of extinguishers supplied that do not conform to the required British Standard, some that are already several years old, others that have arrived damaged, empty, without parts, discharged, or without the bracket. We have seen extinguishers that are made in China, South Africa, Spain, Poland, Israel, etc. where spare parts and refills are difficult to obtain and expensive. The seller will not tell you that on their website!

We have seen pictures of lightweight alloy CO2 extinguishers, which when delivered are steel and therefore twice as heavy. Coincidentally they are cheaper to make, therefore more profit to the supplier.

Then you have to have them serviced or put together. They have to be wall mounted at the correct height. You can often buy this service when purchasing your extinguisher, but at disproportionate prices as this is part of the profit margin.

Payment will already have been made before delivery which weakens your position. Our terms are 28 days from the date of the invoice. Delivery may take several days - ours are usually next day, in our own vans by our own qualified engineers.

We know of images of fire extinguishers on some websites, showing top class equipment, but the customer receives something inferior. Do you know the difference?

The fire extinguishers supplied by Complete Fire Protection have an almost unique free 10 year guarantee. This means that we will take an unserviceable unit after 9 years, and replace it with a new extinguisher free of charge, also with a free 10 year guarantee. This has happened on a few occasions. Most other firms give a 5, or only a 1 year guarantee.

We have been established since 1991. How long has your internet firm been trading? Are they in fact making a profit to ensure long term survival? Most internet firms are trading at a loss in the hope that quantity over quality will eventually triumph. Our marketing analysis research reports are readily available.

So you get what you pay for. Our prices reflect excellent quality equipment at reasonable prices. Sure, you can buy them cheaper elsewhere, but then it’s not the same equipment, and it’s not the same service. When your life may depend on it, cheaper is not always better…

We have a large number of highly polished copper, brass and chrome extinguishers in our collection. We also have some very unusual extinguishing equipment / devices and Brigade equipment dating back 80 years or so. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to come and have a look.
